Dr. Wilson has been practicing in the Madison area since 2008. She is a native to Wisconsin born and raised in Waukesha. Dr. Wilson graduated from Ripon College in Ripon, WI in 2002 with 2 degrees: one in Spanish and the other in PsychoBiology (a combination of Psychology and Biology and how they interact). She received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 2006 graduating with honors in both academics, and clinical care. Dr. Wilson completed internship rotations in several areas of study including pediatrics, ocular disease, contact lenses and low vision in Denver, CO, the Naval base at Beaufort, SC, the VA hospital in Daytona Beach, FL and the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago. She stayed and practiced in Chicago for 2 years before moving back home to Wisconsin.
Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Wisconsin Optometric Association and the Madison Area Optometric Society. She has also participated in international missions traveling to under-developed areas to provide vision care to those in need.
Dr. Wilson loves working as an Optometrist because it allows her to interact with all kinds of people. She particularly likes working with contact lenses including unusual and difficult cases, and determining the right prescription for a person’s needs. She is thoroughly trained in diagnosing and managing diseases of the eye as well as other eye conditions like binocular vision, focusing issues, and many more.
In her free time, Dr. Wilson and her husband Tim love to travel and spend time outdoors with their dog Penny.
